Dress Code & Attire

Below you will find Mariana's Dancing Studio's information regarding class attire. A dress code is part of the discipline of dance, and allows our instructors to see the dancer's body lines.
Twinkle Toes Ballet & Tippity Tap · Bridge to Mini Ballet and Tap
These two classes share one dress code, covering both the ballet and the tap portion of class. Dancers in these classes do not need to follow the Ballet or Tap requirements further down the page.

For the tap portion of class, dancers are welcome to bring shorts or anything they would like to throw on top. This is optional, not required.
Ballet
Ballet is much more than just a dance style! It is a discipline that teaches responsibility, accountability, respect and discipline.
Uniforms allow instructors to be able to more clearly see the dancer's lines which assists them in giving them the best possible feedback and corrections, they allow dancers to have correct form fitting attire for comfortability and full range of motion and they also promote uniformity in class which allows dancers to more clearly focus on their technique and development in dance as opposed to what they may be wearing.
Please also note that there will be expectations in regard to our dress code policy to help us ensure that dancers are being held responsible and helping create a respectful and unified class environment.
For Mini intro to ballet classes, dancers are allowed up to 2 classes per semester if needed excused. After 2 classes of dancers not being in full uniform, the dancer will be asked to observe. Competition students will be required to make up the class in proper attire and recreational students are welcome to as well.
For all other Mini, Junior and Teen ballet classes, dancers are allowed up to 1 class per semester if needed, excused from having all items in uniform. After 1 class of dancers not being in full uniform, the dancer will be asked to observe. Competition students will be required to make up the class in proper attire and recreational students are welcome to as well.
